I am the girl in a tutu, bikini, and swim goggles.
I am giggling, ready to dive under the sprinkler or dance barefoot in the
grass. I am the young woman on a roller coaster, wind lifting my skirt,
laughter springing from my heart. I am an old woman dancing with a man I
have loved fifty years or five minutes. I am wrapped in his arms and rapt
by his wit. I am sea anemones and tropical flowers, swaying in warm currents
and breezes. I am Joy: hot, silly, breathless, exuberant, inspiring. I can't
wait to live in you.
Artist's statement
I love bringing forth ideas and concepts through
visual means. I think in symbols, metaphors, and analogies, (alas, the fate
of the English/Art History major), so the SoulCollage™ process is a natural
way to gain insight and clarity. I started doing SoulCollage™ in hopes of
figuring out a new career. I have not exhumed a job title yet, but the process
has taught me about qualities I can use to inform all of my decisions. Soul
Collage™ has reminded me to pay attention to what inspires me, and when
given the chance, to always go toward joy.
