I am the one who beckons to myself… I come willingly,
exposing my vulnerability. My softness is my strength. I soar in my groundedness,
rooted like a tree, leaning towards the water. I offer a solid place to
walk upon and the freedom to fly. I am the dance between water and rock.
I live in the present where belief and trust flourish. With gentle steps,
I walk the rocks one at a time. This shell of mine is a reminder: I am always
home. With outstretched neck, I offer all of me.
Artist's statement
I remember the first SoulCollage™ workshop I
attended with a group of women happily tearing pages from magazines. I loved
that sound. I still enjoy that part of the process the most - flipping rapidly
through glossy pages, watching for when my eye lingers, and then ripping
the image, not yet knowing what its function will be. My next favorite part
may come days or weeks later when I say to that image, "Oh, that's who you
are!" Each card is a journey-usually an adventurous one-and always nurturing.
